🔒 Upgrade and Secure Your Apache Server Against CVE-2023-25690
To combat the critical CVE-2023-25690 vulnerability, I have developed a script that not only updates your Apache server but also remediates potential configuration issues to ensure robust security.
🔍 How it works:
This script performs two vital tasks:
Upgrade Apache: Automatically updates your Apache server to the latest version available using apt, ensuring it is at least version 2.4.56.
Remediate Configurations: Checks your Apache configuration files for vulnerable patterns (RewriteRule and ProxyPassMatch) and replaces them with safer, specific patterns to prevent HTTP Request Smuggling attacks.
⚠️ Why it matters:
CVE-2023-25690 is a critical vulnerability that affects Apache versions before 2.4.56, allowing attackers to perform HTTP Request Smuggling attacks. This can lead to unauthorized access and severe security breaches. Implementing this script helps ensure your Apache server is updated and its configurations are secure, protecting your system from potential exploits.
