CVE-2020-0796 also known as SMBGhost is a vulnerability in the Microsoft Server Message Block (SMB) protocol that enables attackers to remotely execute code on a target system without any user interaction It exists due to a flaw in the way SMB handles compressed data packets a threat actor can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted packet to the target system which allows to execute arbitrary code with system-level privileges.
